I was born and raised in a city far from the sea. When I visited Zandvoort,  I liked the name of the railway station there, which is called ‘Zandvoort by the Sea’.

To remember a beautiful day by the sea, I decided to use the name as the title of my work, Zandvoort aan Zee.
